What We Do
We help kids ages 9 and up (really beginners of any age) learn to create using technology!
In today's world, skills related to digital arts such as web design, video editing, and game design are in increasingly higher demand yet schools don't usually prioritize teaching these skill sets. Furthermore, teachers are often at a loss for how to teach ever-changing technology skills to students to help them be productive and creative with the technology available as opposed to just passive audiences in front of screens. Enter MsComputerTeacher.com! We help teachers teach tech and learners learn the tech skills needed to feed their imaginations and creativity in today's tech-driven world. |
How We Do It

Why We Do It
Once upon a time there was a real tech teacher named Ms. Shellady whose super-awesome students wanted to learn more on the computer than just typing skills and how to properly format a report. They wanted to learn how to animate, make websites, make videos, edit photographs, make apps for their phones, build 3d models, and much more!
Ms. Shellady worked day and night trying to learn everything she could about animation, web design, coding, et cetera so she could teach her amazing and excited students what they wanted to learn. Although she learned a lot and taught a lot, Ms. Shellady soon figured out that teaching these skills is hard! Why? Because technology changes so fast! Program interfaces change, new programs and apps are released, and new devices like Chromebooks and tablets mean new ways of learning how to create with these devices. There has to be a better way thought Ms. Shellady! Ms. Shellady also had many teacher friends who wanted to teach their students how to create with technology, but had no idea how or where to start. Plus, they were busy teaching their own curricula and had no time to learn how to teach, for example, video editing. Ms. Shellady asked herself how she could help those teachers and students, too. Hmmmm...... Aha! Video tutorials! Ms. Shellady started putting videos on YouTube and eventually a website (you guessed it, MsComputerTeacher.com) so that teachers and students anywhere could easily learn how to create using technology. Over time, isolated video tutorials turned into fun, start-to-finish projects that students could do independently without help from teachers or parents. (Check out some of those awesome kids here.) Meanwhile, technology did what technology does best - it evolved! New apps and programs took note of the interest from kids and started offering their own tutorials showing how to use their products. Sooo, Ms. Shellady and MsComputerTeacher.com evolved, too! Instead of offering just our projects, we now offer curated content of all the best educational resources teaching tech to students, teachers, and parents! Yay! Why do we do this? Because teaching tech skills is what we do and because we love kids! If a kid can dream it, we're here to teach 'em how to make it! :) |
